Building Resilience in a VUCA World

Training Programs and Workshops

I offer various training programs and workshops for Leaders (and their families and teams), including:

MindTheFullness – Resilience Training

MindTheFullness Resilience Training enables participants to develop or improve their ‘mental scaffolding’ using a variety of tools and techniques in order to better cope with stress and flourish in life and work.

The program, which draws from the latest research in the fields of social science, psychology and neuroscience, combines science and self-directed learning, promoting insight and self-awareness as key ingredients for resilience, leading to improved well-being.

During the program participants will develop ways to nurture their mental health, such as:

  • Understanding one’s own purpose and values, and how these frameworks impact motivation and habitual patterns.
  • Working through a tiered approach of self-awareness and personal development using the EQ-i 2.0 Model of Emotional Intelligence (EI)
  • Leveraging emotion regulation and mindfulness techniques to better cope with stress.
  • Generating positive meaning in life in the face of stress.

Mindfulness in Schools Project

Paws b

Paws b is a leading mindfulness curriculum for children aged 7 -11 in schools.

Paws b was developed in 2012 by the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP), Tabitha Sawyer and Rhian Roxburgh, teachers at Ysgol Pen Y Bryn and Sarah Silverton, a senior mindfulness teacher and trainer with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University in Wales. The lessons are flexible and varied and can be taught as six, one hour lessons, or twelve 30 minute lessons. Learning from all of the lessons is encouraged to be connected to other aspects of the school curriculum where and when appropriate, such as music, sport, art, drama, queuing to come into the classroom, school and residential trips, to name just a few possibilities.

.b

.b, pronounced [dot-be], is the UK’s leading mindfulness curriculum for 11-18 year olds in schools.

.b stands for ‘stop and be’, a simple practice at the heart of this ten lesson course. Each .b lesson (between 40 minutes and 1 hour) is expertly crafted for use in the classroom to teach a distinct mindfulness skill. The .b materials are designed to engage even the most sceptical of young minds.

Dynamic Mindfulness

A 3-hour work-based or open, public course designed for teens and adults, and drawing on the latest findings in neuroscience, to help manage day-to-day stress levels.

The program aims to help participants to understand the common triggers of stress and then learn simple and practical techniques, including mindfulness, to apply in everyday life.

According to the NHS, the following are the symptoms associated with a Common Mental Disorder (CMD):

  • Somatic Symptoms
  • Sleep Problems and Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Concentration and Forgetfulness
  • Worry about Physical Health
  • Depression and Depressive ideas
  • Phobias, Panic and Worry
  • Obsessions and Compulsions
  • Anxiety

Workplace MT

A work based mindfulness training course from The Mindfulness Exchange, a spin off from the Oxford Mindfulness Centre at Oxford University.

Mindfulness training can transform working life. It can enhance performance, resilience and job satisfaction as well as deliver large savings by reducing days lost at work due to stress, anxiety and depression.

Most mindfulness teaching is based on traditional meditation approaches or approaches developed in clinical settings. We adapt the best practice from clinical mindfulness teaching (MBCT) to suit the needs of the corporate world.

Motivation to learn mindfulness in the workplace is very different to learning mindfulness as a means to gaining enlightenment or as a therapy for psychological problems.

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
